What DNK Institute collects when you use this website and our Android app, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
DNK Institute runs this online learning platform at dnkinstitute.com and the DNK Institute Android app. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Questions about it go to info@denovofx.com.
Your account. Your email address, your name, and a password (stored only in hashed form). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and nothing else from your Google account. You can add a photo and a short bio to your profile.
Your learning. The courses you join, the lessons you complete, where you stopped in a video, your quiz answers and scores, coursework you hand in, notes you write, questions and replies you post, ratings and reviews, the courses you save to your wishlist, live sessions you attend, and the certificates you earn.
Payments. For each purchase we keep what you bought, the amount, any discount code, and the payment reference. Payments are taken by Lenco, our payment provider, in its own checkout. Your mobile money number or card details go to Lenco, not to us, and we never see or store them.
If you apply to teach. The headline, bio, expertise and sample course outline you send with your application.
The Android app. When you open the app while signed in, it records an identifier for that installation, the app and Android version, and when you last opened it. This tells us how many people use the app and which versions are still in use. The app does not access your contacts, location, camera or microphone. It reads a file from your device only when you choose one to hand in.
Usage measurement. The website counts page views and measures page speed without cookies and without identifying you. We use this to find slow or broken pages.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not show advertising, and we do not use your information to build advertising profiles.
We use service providers to host the website and database, deliver videos, and take payments. They handle your information only to provide those services to us. Payments are handled by Lenco. If you sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in under its own privacy policy. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
These providers may process your information outside Zambia. When they do, we rely on their contractual commitments to protect it.
The website uses cookies only to keep you signed in. Your cart is stored in your browser under your account, and it is cleared when you sign out. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. On Android, the app stores your sign-in and any lessons you save for offline viewing on your phone.
If you add your live-session schedule to a calendar, you get a private link that anyone who has it could use to see your schedule. You can reset it from My Learning at any time, and the old link then stops working.
We keep your account and learning record while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal information, except payment records, which we keep as long as the law requires for accounting and tax. We also keep certificates you have already been given, so their verification links go on working, unless you ask us to remove those as well.
Under Zambia's Data Protection Act, 2021 and other laws that apply, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, or delete it. You can also object to how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given. You can edit your name and profile yourself on your profile page. For anything else, including deleting your account, email info@denovofx.com. We will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Zambia.
All connections to the website and the app are encrypted. Access to your information is limited by account: another learner cannot see your progress, notes or coursework. Coursework files are kept private and are shown only to you and your instructor, through links that expire.
DNK Institute is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will tell you in the app or on the website before it takes effect.
